  1. I was a member for many years, and at Covid lock down time handed in all my books and have not gone back. We have now moved closer to Boskruin. I still have my membership card. Can I come back? And can my husband also join at this stage? Thank you

    1. Hi Alyson
Yes you can use your card at aby of our 87 libraries. Your family members can also join. They can register for free online. Click on Membership from the website homepage (www.cojelearning.org.za), and fill in the Google form. Membership numbers will be ready within 7 working days. They can use that membership number for E-books and audiobooks through the Libby app, and other online resources like digital newspapers and magazines, or online articles for research through our website. You can also use it at any of the 87 City of Johannesburg libraries for printed books. You can also visit any branch to use study areas.

      Happy reading!!

  2. Good day
There was a time when the public libraries would have one / more newspapers to read in the library (NOT to take with). I thought that was a greatly helpful offering.
I am a member of the library and have realized that this service is no longer available. I cannot understand that decision more especially given given that newspapers may be the only source of job / opportunity search.
Whilst I appreciate that this turn of events may have to do with fiscal limitations, I believe that that offering could have been treated as one of the core offerings of the library.
Furthermore, I am concerned with the depleted referral section of the library.
The library does not offer an form of digital / interment and the users are forced to read old outdated material purely for leisure.
That phenomenon is just beyond any user’s comprehension.

  3. Good day – trust you are well. How do I go about applying for library cards/access for my kids? Is the process to apply online? Or at the library?

  4. Good day I was told to apply online for a membership however I cannot find the application so is this where you apply?

  5. Why can’t the library open on Saturdays till 12 am at least so that those of us who work 8-5pm jobs can have a chance to study etc Please consider opening half day on Saturdays

  6. Hi. We will be visiting my mother in law for two weeks. We are a home school family and would love to be able to take books out from the Boskruin Library. We used to be members before moving to the UK. Can we get a temporary card for two weeks?
