Sheridan Road River Park
The River Library has a good collection of non-fiction and fiction books. Children and toddlers are catered for with a variety of books for beginners as we prioritize early childhood development. Our library hosts Story Time on Wednesday afternoons at 15:00. During public holidays, we host special holiday programmes in order to engage with the community. The River Park Library was officially opened by the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Councillor Amos Masondo on the 22nd October 2006. The library caters to both children and adults. The Library was built at the cost of R4, 495,460 as part of the Human Development Strategy of 2006, which focuses on the following: to Build prospects for social inclusion amongst all Johannesburg communities; to address inequalities through the championing of rights and opportunities, with special focus on women and children; and to improve access for poor and vulnerable households to library and information services.
